THE POWER PROBLEM

The challenge

Ol Njorowa grows export roses off the shores of Lake Naivasha, some of the sunniest land in Kenya, but its power arrived down a 1 km transmission line.

Voltage drops along that line overloaded equipment and made continuous operation of pumps and machinery impossible at the far end of the farm.

THE ARIYA FIX

The solution

Ariya’s engineers solved it in three phases: a 132 kWp roof-mount with voltage stabilisation, then a 33 kWp ground-mount with battery storage and variable-speed drives at the distant fertigation pumps, and finally a 79 kWp roof-and-ground hybrid to power more of the farm.

The 262 kWp system of 588 modules with 31.2 kWh of storage was financed rather than bought outright, and the Vision Controller streams its performance to the farm in real time. Annual savings: $45,000.
