THE POWER PROBLEM

The challenge

In the Kaimosi highlands, the factory’s grid supply was erratic: under- and over-voltages at peak times, and generators running up to six hours a day just to keep withering and drying lines alive.

The estate already had a solar and storage system. What it lacked was an operator who could make the hardware earn its keep.

THE ARIYA FIX

The solution

Ariya took over operations and maintenance in 2021, upgraded the 1,504 kWp array and its 3,876 kWh of storage, and, in partnership with Tesla, built a bespoke hybrid operating regime around the poorest five-hour evening grid block.

The factory now transitions off-grid onto batteries as the evening degradation begins and returns when the grid stabilises, monitored through Tesla Power Hub. The system has delivered its best performance since installation.
